93 ls, what to look for?

Hey guys,

I found a 93 ls with 106,000 miles on craigslist for 1500 bucks, and the body looks good in the pics. I am going to go look at the car, but i'm unfamiliar with the 2nd gen's, so can anyone give me tips on what to look out for on this car? It seems like a good deal to me, I just don't want to miss something that may be catastrophic down the road.

Thanks!

^ Is that a lot or a little?

Look for any oil leaks, any unexplained idle issues. Ask about maintenance, how often oil's changed. Who's owned it. Reason for selling. Gas mileage. (Also gives a good insight on engine condition.) Along with how long they've owned it.

Things like that. Learn as much as you can about it.

i'm pretty sure something's not right about it... as soon as i told the guy I wanted to come look at it he got a bit flaky and now won't return my calls. Doing business through craigslist is such a pain.

Well how does he expect to sell it?

"Just slip the money under the door and you'll get the car in a month..."

Haha.

either A or B

A. The car has a problem they are not telling you.
B. The car is actually good just sells needs a new one.

I paid $300 for mine with 273k and a blown engine. And I have $700 into a B18B1 which is rebuilt.
Not too bad lol.
