93 integra resurrection (new pics)
here are pics of my project... i had a 93 gs (white) and someone slid her sideways into a curb and broke the frame.
i bought a new shell (93 ls... grey) off craigslist for $50 and an oxyacelyne rig w/ empty tanks.
the white car was AT and the grey one MT so i bought new trans, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, throwout bearing, ecu, and half shaft.
there was a lot of head scratching but eventually i got my hands dirty and dove in there. my friend mikey helped me with the cherry picker by showing me where to secure the chain. (i wasnt sure where i should pick up the motor. ) and helped me pull the auto trans and torque converter off. other than that i did all the work myself.
three months later she is back on the road...
i am not a mechanic, nor have i ever tried anything like this before. so natually i had problems with some vacuum lines and my map sensor not being hooked up but now she's running like a champ
i also had a new muffler installed for $70 since the old one was damaged.
it felt really good when i went to dmv for vin inspection and my car was determined road worthy once again. it was even better when i was buying a new bolt for my ac and someone at the local performance shop told me that i should be proud of my DA. i would have to agree.
there are more pics to come as soon as i wash her and vacuum the interior.
