Hi i just bought this 93 integra ls 1.8l. i was driving it one day and it seemed normal never had any issue putting it in gear never had any problems with the clutch. The previous owner said the clutch is fairly new. I parked it in my driveway and turned it off... when i came back later to go somewhere it started fine but refused to shift into any slot. i turned it off and it shifted just fine into every gear every slot. i turned it on and it shifted just fine. but once i stopped for a minute it didnt want to go into any gear, its like a wall thats stopping me from pushing the shifter into a slot. i sat there and messed with the shifter trying to put it in gear, turning it off and on and out of nowhere while it was on it would let me shift just fine into every gear. then the next day it wouldnt go in gear but i could force it into the slot. at first it jumped into the reverse gear and grinded on its way out. some gears were easy to shift into some needed to be forced. then they would switch and others would be hard to shift into and needed forcing and other didnt. now it sits in my garage and grinds real bad when i try to put it in reverse but it wont go anyway, it was just the shifter nob that wouldnt let me shift somtimes the pedal seemed fine. at one point when i had to force it in gear the car would be rolling forward like it was an automatic in drive even though my foot was on the clutch, it was like the clutch was still grabbing a little. now that its in my garage i tryed adjusting my clutch (it is a cable clutch). still shifts when its off but not when its running. i do notice that when i start the car my shift arm is wayyy stiffer than it was when i just loosened it and my pedal now has like this grinding feeling at the last inch or 2 pressing it down it doesnt make a grinding noise, its just a grinding like feeling i dont understand whats going on, i would just like to know whats going on so i have an idea of what im gunna need to do... the bushings in the shifter are very worn idk if that has anything to do with my problem or not. please help

I had the same problem when i first bout my 93 ls previous owner said the clutch was bad but i believe it was the throw out bearing sounds like the same problem i had so im guessing it is your throw out bearing if your going to replace it yourself i recommend replacing clutch and all instead of having to do it agian 3000 miles later or so

Looking for my next Teg..
could be a bad or improperly adjusted clutch cable, Clutch could be installed wrong... The reason you cannot put the car in gear is that the clutch sounds liek it is not fully engaging.

try adjusting the cable or have a mechanic look at it and give you a roper diagnosis.

Also try spacing your comments like mine is makes for much easier reading and will get you more responses as many will not even take the time to try and read a word jumble.
