I bought my 92 integra about 2 years ago. I have intended to fix it to sell from the beginning. The very first thing is that it is a v-tec gs-r but had the vtec removed, along with the ys tranny, many years ago, probably stolen as the car fax said it might have been. Anyway that was replaced with an 18b honda engine and five speed, non-ys.
My problem is that the car originally had an egr valve but now doesn't but the plug is still there on the harness. I am getting an egr code now since I have been able to drive the car on the streets. I know it doesn't have the original ecu either but one that the car runs with and functions with. Is there a way I can bypass the egr system so I don't get that code? I am trying to sell it but will have problems with a check engine light coming on. And no, I'm not going to pull that light bulb...lol.
So, any expert out there that can point me in the right direction? It is a very nice car otherwise and will allow someone to have a nice daily driver.
