OLD POST ----------------------
Hey guys, I posted this up a little over a month ago. I still havent figured the problem out. The car turns over fine, but there is no spark at the plugs, and the fuel pump dosent kick on. It happened after I got home and shut it off outside my house, then came back out to restart it. I tried a new main relay, and that didnt work, so I brought it back and exchanged it for another new main relay, and that didnt start it. I checked for power going to the relay at the plug, and all 3 tests per manual checked good. I checked the no.24 fuse under dash, and ecu fuse under hood, and both those checked out fine, even replaced them, that was not it. I tested for power going to these fuses, and there is power. I can get the fuel pump to kick on if I jump the no. 5 and 7 at the main relay harness plug in. What does that mean? The pump is good, but wont kick on with the relay in place for some reason. There is still no spark if I jump the connector and try to start the car. The MIL dosent flash any codes when the plug is jumped, and stays on when the key is turned on, dosent go off after 2 seconds. I know these two problems are connected in some way, but where can I go from here? Is there a oil pressure switch that would enable the system like this? I read somthing in a manual that briefly stated this oil pressure switch, along with a anti theft device, which my car dosent have, but the manual didnt go into any other detail. I also checked the ground wires and cleaned surfaces at the thermostat housing, and the one that goes from the head to the front of the car, without any luck. If anyone has any ideas or tips on what to look for or check next It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, ---- Jonny.
