92 Acura Integra problems

My son was given a 92 Integra and it has a problem. It will crank but will not stay running. Sometimes it will not even crank. The person he got the car from said they had replaced the whole distributor and all the wires and plugs and a few other things. I have not seen the car yet (except in pictures) but am planning to go see if we can get it running this weekend. What would be the first thing to check? The fuel pump? or is there something else that is known to happen to these things that should be checked first. If the fuel pump needs to be checked is there a way to check it out under the hood, like with a pressure gauge that screws into the fuel rail or something. Any suggestions would be helpful and would be appreciated but since I have never even seen this car i am just going by the information that was passed on to me and i know its very limited so just throw out some suggestions and once I see the car and check the things listed we will go from there

there are 3 things for an engine to run... Fuel, air, spark... Yes you can check fuel pressure at the rail you can rent them from autozone. You can check spark via pulling the plug and have some one crank the engine .. Check all the grounds there are 3 one on the T-stat housing one off the tranns and one on the front right off the valve cover. If one is bad or corroded or broken check the gound off the batt too. Have fun

Thanks for all the things so far to look for. I have a 1st Generation Acura CL but I believe this will be a whole new beast

alright I finally was able to go look at the car. It would crank and ran fine but as soon as you turn it off it will not crank back up for about 15 or 20 minutes. I drove the car home about 30 miles without any problems what so ever and seemed to pull just fine but as soon as I got it home and turned it off, it started and then shut right back off then all it would do is turn over. Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

we got it fixed, it was a sensor up under the dash. I am not sure what its called but when you turn the switch on it clicks twice before it starts. when it would click twice it would crank, if it would only click once it wouldn't. We took it out and saw the connection was broken so we fixed it and now it cranks every time. Oh yeah its a 91 instead of a 92 also. Just wanted to let you all know in case someone else has this problem

Edit: after doing some reading I think its called the main relay, not a sensor
