i have a 91 ls with a b18c1 swap. i race it on an oval track, and every other lap or so the car shuts off. the gauges stay on, but the motor stops running every other lap or so. it usually only happens coming out of the corner. ive replaced my fuel pump, main relay, distributor, and computer (p72) everything is bone stock. battery is relocated right behind the drivers seat. i used a wiring harness off ebay to convert from obd0 to obd 1. rewired the dist myself to an obd0 plug. any ideas on where to start?ive already tried looking over the wiring. could it be the ignition switch?

How much fuel do you have in it when it cuts off? Could be that the fuel pickup is getting starved. Does it just cut out like you turned the key off, or does it sputter and die?

it does not seem to be fuel related, as sometimes it happens going in to the corner as well. the car usually has atleast 1/4 to 1/2 a tank. it doesnt sputter, it just shuts off like the ignition cut off. i dont think its the ecu, because the gauges stay on.

i sure hope you find something on this because i have a 1993 gsr with the 1.7 doing the same thing and i also am running it on a oval, my fuel tank is full and i can run maybe 5 laps of practice when i first get there whille the car is somewhat cooler still than next hot laps i may get 2-3 laps before it does it. Than after the car sits it qaulify's fine which takes three laps, heat race it makes it about 6 laps than shuts down again. Have not tried the feature because in mid pack inversion the will run completely over me when it shuts off. I think i am going to try the distributer this week cause it had the signs of the coil maybe breaking down from heat???? Also i have no ignition on my car its switched with a button maybe it is the ignition.. Another guy has a accord with the vtec he said his done that and he replaced the main relay and fixed his. if u find anything please post

i replaced the main relay, replaced ignition switch, changed the fuel pump, and filled it up above half way and that fixed the problem. when it shuts off, try turning the key to the start position instead of off.

think i am going to just run a constant hot to my fuel pump an use a toggle to on/off the pump talked to a guy at winchester speedway today and said his done it but after hookin up a constant hot to the pump it fixed it

have you figured out what was causing this? i have had the same problem with my racecar for along time now and have talked to others that race integras and they have it too but nobody knows how to fix it. i noticed thst if i shift gears when it stalls then i have full power again and can shift back down into second and run a few more laps before it does it again. happens after about 5-10 laps running in just second gear with out shifting then again every 2-3 after the first stall. im not hiting the rev limiter. I believe its something in the body wiring harness (doesnt make any sence, but we figured out the ones that were having the prob were realy gutted out. dash, any wiring that looked unneeded. maybe i cut an important ground wire somewhere). i have replaced the engine harness, ecu, injectors, IAC, TB, distributor, about every sensor i can see, fuel pump, and now i bought a body harness im going to try. I can park my car and hold it at about 5500 rpms in neutral for about a minute or 2 and it stalls like on the track until you completly let off the throttle. it has a fuel cell with factory pump and wired to a on off switch. also it does have steel fuel lines ran under the car (illegal to have fuel lines in drivers compartment). any help would be much appreciated. thank you
