dropped on coilovers

ok so here goes...... i was test driving my 1st integra that i had bought the day before, it has a 3 inch coil over supposedly, so i come out of a parking lot from a stop sign, proceed to go and my car bottoms out. but instead of scraping, the driver side bottom frame catches on the metal rim of a manhole and stops the car dead.... so i start the car back up and reverse, then go around the manhole and proceed down my street, i back up to turn around and turn left, i just straighten out and go fully into 1st then all off a sudden i here a loud clanking and i have no power.....Blew my driver's side cv joint from the side coming from the tranny.
Ok so i was pissed but thought it was reapairable. so i went today and replaced the axle, lots of fun it was! Got done, dropped the car off the jack and started her up...... i barely engage the clutch and move about three feet, then BOOM! there goes my axle again--- thank god for limited replacement.... wtf did i do to my car??? did i tweak the frame? i looked at the rotation of the spindle of the old joint and it wasnt wobbling, it was dead straight... i am not a mechanic but i can fix what is obvious to my eye, right now i dont obviously see anything... i talked to a guy today and he said i should try taking off the coilovers and that might solve the problem.. but why was it fine before? it ran like a champ, chirped every gear with my b16 tranny.... THANKS, ANY INSIGHT WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED FEEL FREE TO ASK ME ANYTHING

Body first, then Motor!
you probably twisted or bent something in there when you bottomed and hooked onto the manhole. Seems logical but im not sure.

what part of the axle is blowing out?

and your car has to be dropped more then 3" to catch on manhole covers... that's really low to be having that problem.

instead of taking out the coil over, I suggest trying to raise them up so your car actually has some ground clearance, then trouble shoot

I think having a car that low puts a lot more stress on the axle because of the angle it is sitting at. That could be a potential issue compounding another problem you are having.

I was reading threads last night and im leaning more towards maybe bent motor or transmission mounts, but haven't had a chance to take a look....

To Kuchtaboy::::::::what part of the axle is blowing out?:::: it's the driver side axel and its blowing out from the tranny......

You need to go to an image hosting website, such as Photobucket.com. Upload the pictures to an account you make, then copy the IMG tags from there and paste them here.
