90' won't start after a new starter

I recently replaced the starter on my car and went to start it after and it would not start. I tried jumping it and it grinds a few times and starts after maybe 3 or 4 tries. Now when I try you can hear the starter spinning but it won't start until I jump it again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sorry forgot to mention it was charged overnight and I also tried a battery from another car and had the same problem.

Could it be the new starter was bad as well?

Get in there and make sure everything is properly hooked up. Go back over your work just to make sure you didn't forget anything.

Was this your issue before you changed the starter? Maybe you got the wrong starter, or you have a broken flywheel/flexplate?

I've went back and re-did everything and I'm still having the same problem. While I had the starter off I looked at the teeth on the fly wheel and they seemed fine.

but like someone said take both of the starters to get tested. If the old one works then that means your problem is not with the starter.

If you got this starter from Advance, AutoZone, etc. it is most likely a re-manufactured unit, not a new unit. Remanned units are known for being bad out of the box.
