90 ls dies when coming to a stop

I have a 90 ls everything stock except the exhaust and I just put a new fuel pump in it. When I start it up the idle goes all the way up to 3k when it is warming up and then fluctuates up and down almost 1000 rpms. Once its warmed up it sits at about 800 rpm. It seems to be running okay while its im going fast but then whenever I come to a stop or a tight corner the rpm goes all the way down and pushing on the goes does nothing. After pumping the gas a couple times it gets back up but sometimes dies completely and then takes a while to start. I am also getting code 20 (electrical load detector) and a code 17. Can anyone help?

Check your battery connection, and code 17 is your vss (vehicle speed sensor), get those codes fixed, and let us know how that effects it.

Okay thanks. I'm not really sure what to do about the eld. Everything looks right but right to me but I still have the ame problem. When I got the car the ecu looked really damaged. My friend gave me an ecu out of a crx si and said it would work fine. Is that ecu even compatible with my car?

Ive heard of this before. They said it was a liitle baggy looking thing on the fuel pump that falls off and the turns and stops cause fuel to leak out stopping the car.

I don't think thats the problem the bag was on pretty securely. And that would suck to drop my fuel pump again haha. The idle problem I mentioned above went away after I unplugged my tps. Do I need to get a new one?

could be many things though. the idle control valve could cause the rpms to go up and down also air in the coolant system as well. when is the last time you did the fuel filter and tune up? does it sound like its backfiring when you give it gas when the rpms go down?

Might be your Mas flow air sensor, that might be why your car seems to idle before it warms up and if it happens while you are at a stop on neutral then it's definitely your sensor that will cost you roughly 250-300 bucks

I had the same problem on my 92... Could be a number of things.... Try the idle air control valve... Sits right behind the intake manifold... Also check for TPS ...
