Hey,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I have a 99 LS i bought and my parents just told me they ordered 6.5" speakers for me for christmas.. anyways my question is that I was pretty sure I needed component speakers but I'm also pretty sure my parents did not order component speakers. Can I still use them or should i return them for components for a possible 15% restocking fee+extra cash for the component speakers?

They're pioneers.

The fit isn't a problem, it's running non-component speakers on the stock component wiring. should i have any trouble with that? If i just cut the wires from the stock 6.5" component speaker and just connect up the pioneer it should be fine, right?

I don't have a ton of experience in car stereo but in my mind there shouldn't be any problems however we all know the difference in reality and theory.

Depends what came in the kit. When my brother ordered his MTX speakers they i think came with adapters to connect to, or they just fit right in with no problem.

Im no sure what the problem is. The speakers work fine, the tweeters are separate. You just gotta cut the wires that are attached to your old speakers and hook them up to your new ones. Or you could buy the wiring harness for them.

I just put new 6.5s up front and cut the wire because I was too cheap to buy the harnesses(which are on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-ACURA-SPEAKER-ADAPTER-WIRE-HARNESS-CONNECTOR-PLUG-/400176947750?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model:Integra&hash=item5d2c67a226). But if you cut the wires know that there are 4 total: 2 for the positive and 2 for the negative. I just tied each pair together and connected them to the new speakers.

cool, thanks. I think the stereo shop expected me to pay them to do it for me so they were trying to milk more money out of me. lol, i don't know how those people stay in business when we have sources like google. Their job is too easy.

One last question I just thought of,
I've got Pioneer 6.5's that are rated for 40w RMS, and i have a credit at sonic electronix and was thinking of getting some rockford fosgate tweeters that are also rated for 40w RMS. Do you think they will work without an amp for a while until i can afford to pick one up?

Thanks. I just finished installing and it was pretty quick. Just cut the wires and connected where necessary. Was pretty straight forward. I just recommend for future searchers to have a little extra speaker wire if your speakers didn't come with any already. They don't give you much space for error on the stock wiring.
