5th gear tough to get into?

When I try to go into fifth gear it's a little tough. All my other gears slide like easily. What's the problem with my fifth gear!!!

92 and like 145,XXX if it's going out how come it's only fifth is hard to get into?

That used to happen to me with my 98 Civic. .1-4 is a breeze, but then going to 5th would take like 3 seconds.

i forgot what they are called, but there is something in the trany that makes the gears spin in the same speed so you can go between then with out problems.

thats what i was thinking it was.

is it the same at any RPM?

it may be shifter related, try rocking the shifter while trying to put it in 5th. is it hard to put in 5th with car off?

yes those. thats my guess.

is the shift linkage tight? no loose spots?
