Im Sixteen looking for my first car, daily driver . Ive decided i really want an integra but i cant decide which gen. Probably want a manual. Not looking for huge power gains and just little bolt on parts. Btw is there an airbag in a second gen?

Up to you. Look at pictures of the outside and inside and figure out what you like best. It took a long time of me looking at pictures on the internet to find out I wanted a black 3rd gen integra GSR. I didn't realize there was a difference between 94-97 and 98-01. Now that I know at least 3 things about Integra's, I know there is tons if difference.

2nd gen would be cheaper on insurance most likely.

It's all personal opinion. I own a second gen, and I wouldn't mind owning a third gen.
Whatever look you like best!

The pro's of something newer is that it's more likely to be in better shape.

ok here are some downfalls I have both... on the second gen only broblem is if it's older than 92 it has a cable trans and those are hard to find so they cost more. I love the looks and the way the 2nd drives.. It's swapped with the jdm xsi b16 dropout converted to obd1 witha chipped and tuned p28 ecu. The 3rd gen is fun also love the looks and great do drive. Parts are easyer to find I'm on my 12the 3rd gen this year. Only downfall I think is the us frontend is boring and it's hard to fig out something to do that has not been done a 100 times. Both are fun to drive it's up to you honestly

Im MEL.
i wouldnt mind having either. and the 2nd gen does not have an air bag.

I have been in both and have driven both. i mean i like them both, but i own a 2nd gen.
Id say, why not try test driving both, and get the feel for them both, and then determine which you like driving more.

The newer the better, 2nd gens are cool but your going to run into too many little problems. They have leaks, they're older so things like seals are going to be more worn out. They are louder inside and ride rougher.

My advice is to try and find a balance between being new and being well taken care of. Stick with a 3rd gen, you'll have much more aftermarket support for a longer time, and less problems in the long run.

it's up to you. but if you want a car that's a bit newer and is more reliable, since is gonna be Daily Driven, then i say go get a 3rd gen. No offence towards 2nd gen owners! :thumbs up BUT! if you're that kind of person that likes old school style cars, then the 2nd gen is the one for you! and if you don't know how to drive stick, don't get a automatic! I suggest you learn because stick shift is a lot more funner and it really keeps you concentrated on driving. :thumbs up

I own a 2nd gen teg and I love it. I have yet to drive a 3rd gen so I have no comparison :)

2nd gens are nice but 3rd gens look sick with a jdm front end conversion.
