2nd Gen Projector vs Retrofit

Fair warning, I'm about to ask some noob questions about xenon headlights.

I am very much interested in getting HIDS for my 2nd gen DA9, both for their output and because I think the clear white light looks sick!
I don't want to put a kit into my stock housing though, because from what I understand, it will just scatter my light everywhere and blind oncoming traffic. There's enough toolbags driving around town already.

So, if I buy some ebay projector style housings, will they focus the HIDS correctly? Or should I research retrofitting? I don't really want to spend more than a couple hundred if possible, but I also understand you get what you pay for.. link here:

Thanks for reading, sorry I'm a noob. I'm welcome to all suggestions regarding HIDS, or even good stock style halogen bulbs.

Honestly, Ebay projectors don't seem to be very good. Pat has some on his and they blow. A retrofit will be your best option, it's gonna cost you a pretty penny. Or you could just get some good PIAA bulbs for your headlights instead of going for HID. Even buying new OEM bulbs would make a difference because the old ones are worn out.

edit:You have a DA, I don't think many people do retrofits on them. DCs EKs FGs seem to be the most popular.
Double edit: "Customlightz" does retrofits. Talk to them if your serious.

to answer your question is NO! now on that note ill explain why! you could do that, but it be blinding on other cars..

the reason why hid suck so bad is not bc of the hid kit itself, its because of the terrible projector in the oem headlight. buying ebay headlights will make it worse. to do it properly and done correct you ned to swap out the crappy oem projectors for another set of projectors,

now there are many things that need to fall into place to get the correct light output
- the headlight needs to be cleaned/ no haze and glass lens suck. bc of the fluttered lens
-the bulb i(depending on how many hours its in use will change color over time)
not to mention the Kevlins matter.
- the projectors you install must be even and not off center on 1cm.
-aiming the headlights correctly.

all theses things must fall into place on a retro to get the best possible light out put.

If you found a clear lens headlight (without the flutes), you'd be able to retro those just fine.
Or just have me do it :)

Thanks for the input, guys.
I checked out some youtube videos of the ebay halo projectors, and they're okay, but not much better than stock for light output it seems. I think for now I'll just do some nice halogen bulbs, and look into a retrofit down the road when I've got the coin.
