im buying a 2001 gsr to start off here are some parts that have been replaced recently water pump, timing belt, recently it had new plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, also it had the valves adjusted. the car when cold and while driving around 1400 rpm its like the hole engine misfires for a breif second, after it goes past that it doesnt do it any more. i think it might be the tps sensor because the guy before him had switched it out for an omni power brand one. so im not sure, if any of you has had this problem before or knows what it is or could be please let me know im open to all sugestions,

it feels like the shole motor cuts out for a breif second i am pretty sure its ignition related. could it be a bad coil in the distributor? also i had a mechanic who is a buddy of mine ride in it and he thought it might be the tps because the car cuts out completely and there is no power its like the motor almost shuts off at that certain rpm and then it jumps back to life with all the power it should have. and it doesnt matter if im flooring it or going slowly it still does it. hmmm

It just might be. Do it then see what happens. My DB8 used to misfire when I first got her. Changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor. Then she ran smoothly from then on.

ok thanks im going to get one from the parts store tomarrow i have my fingers crossed, ill let you guys know after i put it in. with the fuel filter its just two bolts right? i mean iv done motor swaps and pretty much any thing else on hondas you can do except for this, so it cant be too difficult.

well i finnaly got around to checking the tps sensor today, i took the throttle body off the IM it went smooth. then i got out my multi meter and put it on ohlms 20k to mesure the resistance it read 4.80 i thought it should be 4.45 so i loosened the screws and started turning it to adjust it but it wasnt changing at all. i ended up taking it off to make sure the sensor was in the slot and shook it to see if it made any noise nope no noise. so im going to go to the dealership tomarrow and try to get another one i guess the one i had was omni power. if any one knows the price a tps goes for from the dealer or has any sugestions im open for anything right about now.

alright heres an update just ordered a new tps sensormade by yonaka and yesterday i put in a new fuel filter. the car is still drivable but it now idles at 1500 its not misfiring any more but i have made some sort of sick concluson that its all linked together to cause the problem. the tps got shiped out ground so it should be here within the next couple days or so. hopefully this will be fixed by then and i wont have to hear my car idle at 1500 any more because its really getting on my nerves
