2-way page alarm system

anybody have a 2 way paging alarm system? im looking to buy compustar but i was wondering if its worth the money and if its better than other cheaper 2 way paging systems. even though my inside is stripped with stock acura stereo im still worried about my engine :) and my stock LS wheels that a lot of civic hatchback people want..

my sound system was stolen once clean by a professional. i forgot i had a hundred bux in my glove compartment and luckily all the theif wanted was my whack sound system that consisted of a 10 inch old JL audio woofer and a single pioneer cd player with stock speakers. anyway im not taking anymore risks so if you guys got any input on alarm systems let me know

Never Herd of compustar but I have a viper 2-way alarm w/ remote start. Whatever alarm u do get make sure u have the back up battery because all they have to do is pop hood and pull battery cable and alarm is done!

I have an alarm with a pager. The pager isn't the remote, it's a separate item, an actual pager like from the 90's, hehe. I bought the system 4 years ago, they don't make them anymore. Nowadays it's obsolete technology to make someone carry around a pager, they can put it all in the remote with an LCD screen and everything now. I personally would trust DEI product over Compustar. I installed both DEI and Compustar alarms for a shop from 04/01 to 03/03, Compustar was the new thing back then, the first with an LCD screen in the remote that paged you too. We had less problems with the DEI products (and DEI was easier to install, not that you need to worry about that), but that's not to say Compustar hasn't worked out the bugs over the last 2 1/2 years, I don't know. But Directed Electronics (DEI) is proven quality for many years, and they make a nice alarm system with an LCD remote too.
btw, when you go to have the install done, give the shop as much time as they want to do it because the value of an alarm system is all about the quality of the install. Don't rush the installers and they'll do a better job.

i just thought that since compustar was the first to change the 2-way alarm they gotta be the best like how honda mastered the concept of vtec before anybody else, but ive never heard of DEI so i will check them out and how much more is it for a backup battery?

yo i got the viper 791vx 2 way alarm by dei that shit is hot .. .it works fine and DEI stuff is all good :)

Did that $75 include installation, 3rdGenTaffeta? Cuz I just saw brand new DEI back up batteries on Ebay for $35 shipped.

yes it included install, Dont you hate when that happens, when you buy something then as soon as you buy it theres one way cheaper somewhere else :smackself
