Here is a pic of the roof the 1999 integra that I just bought, I thintk it is clear coat damage, but I'm not sure the best way to completely repair it or cover it up.

This second one is on the front of the hood, I don't think it is a clear coat problem, it seems to be a clear varnish over the paint (I'm assuming the car was repainted by the dealership to sell.

Here is the pic of my car

It looks like just clear coat. Some wet sanding and buffing should clean that right up. It's a lot easier then you'd think as well.

Yes the clear coat is oxidizing. Too much sun and water over the years. You can sand it lightly and respray it with clear coat. OR you can sand it down lightly, paint the roof black and clear coat it.

Why black?

Very good idea. If the paint went to hell might as well be unique.

And with the hood, he can take it off, and have a paint shop prep-n-paint. 3 stage paint will cost about $300 for the hood.

to match the tires. It was just a suggestion bro
idk, maybe black paint would cover red better? I'm not great with color coordinating!

Is this really a viable option? I wet sanded my beater car this afternoon, and the clear coat damage seemed to come right off! but a lot of people seem to say you just have to repaint the whole thing? it seems too easy for everyone to be discounting it. I'm going to try put the clear coat on tomorrow so I guess i'll see if I want to try it on my integra.
