Anybody know how tuff is it to change a blow head gasket on a 98 Integra. I'm sure I can handle the changing, I'm concerned about realigning the cams. Also, what are the chances of the head being warped on these vehicle especially if the engine had been running hotter than normal??? Any help and thanks!!!

changing a head gasket is cake to me take off intake mani exhaust mani timing belt and then you just take the valve cover off and start takin stuff apart it aint hard at all but you do want to get the block and head checked for trueness and and realigning timing is just making sure the pulley is on tdc=top dead center and the cam wheels are pointed straight up and thats pretty much it

just make sure when you put the head back on you torque it down correctly you can go to honda and they can pull up and print the torque specs for you

Everytime i've done it I kept the intake manifold on the head. Makes it 100x easier in my opinion.
Just make sure you put your cams pointing up before you take them out and it'll be easy to line up right again.

Basically just take all the hoses off connecting the block to head. Then remove any wiring on head and cables going over it or attached to it. Valve cover comes off, cams come out, rocker arms are just set in. Get a big slab of cardboard to put everything on when you are doing it. Keep everything in the same order as it comes out.

Take the head to a machine shop and have it checked for cracks and your valves checked out. Put a straight edge on the block to see if there are any high or low spots. Get the head bolts torqued correctly.

If you have any questions just ask, i've become quite good at it..

From what I've read they are not. You can re-use the head bolts.
(At least I hope so, because I re-used mine!)

I just made a "How-To Change Your Head Gasket" thread. Specifically because of this thread, so go to the "How To" section or click the "How to List" in my signature.

If you need any help just ask.
