New (old) guy needs help removing rear wiper arm. I know that some are trying to remove the whole assembly, but I havn't even seen the bolt. I tried to lift up the cover at the base of the arm but it doesn't move. Is that the thing to do. It's all origional and I don't want to ruin something. Thanx

i have a 90 and they should be the same or close to it. mine has plastic push pins in the cover that need removed and then push the cover forward towards the front of car and it pops right off. and when i say cover i mean the whole hatch plastic cover, u could probably just take off the smaller square box but not worth the risk of breaking something. after u get the plastic cover off the whole wiper assembly has 3 bolts to it. undo elec. connectors and bolts then plug the hole and your golden. i don't know why everyone wants to take off their rear wiper...i actually upgraded to one and i love it. i'll rock that rear wiper all day long! haha good luck though!

Thanx again for info. Sorry if this seems late; I have been traveling. I havn't been able to get the wiper arm cover off to expose the nut. I don't want to break it. Does it just pry off and I have been to gentle?

i'm not 100% sure if it is suppose to come all the way off but mine does. i would be gentle at first taking the cover off but pulling the wiper arm off of the assembly may require a little force, its kinda like taking off the front wipers lol. hope it helps, harder to explain than actually doing it. lol good luck and the weather has been very nice for traveling.

I wouldnt even bother taking it off. Just pull off the wiper blade and put a towel down under the arm. Thats what i did and it worked great. That is if you're rattlecaning it lol.
