I have a 1990 Integra and its been my savior all of my life. I gave my car a rest by letting her chill for about 2 years. I crank her every now and then, she still runs great. Here is my problem.
Before the hibernation, I had just gotten an emission test and she barely passed. I am planning on driving her again because now my TL needs to chill for a minute and the gas prices are rising once again. What should I do? Should I go ahead and do major work before getting the emissions? How hard is it to change the O2 sensor? I know it is in the exhaust manifold but how hard is it to get out? Is there one method that will be a guarantee for passing emission? How important is cleaning the throtttle body? Does it really matter if I change the spark plugs wires, distributor cap and rotor? Will that make a difference? I know seafoam is good but will it really help such an old car? I just want to get some opinions on this before I begin. I will probably do it anyway because I hate to FAIL at anything. I just want to know what helps and what hurts
