1990 Integra Over Heating Issue

Today for the first time in months my car started to over heat, it has a new radiator, new coolant, new thermostat, fan is always on. The only other possibility i can think would cause the car to over heat would be a faulty water pump. Is there any other options? Is there a way to test the water pump to see if its good prior to actually having to replace it along with the timing belt? Any input would be helpful.

the only way you can test the pump is to pull the radiator cap off and see if the water starts to flow if not our if its week most likely the water pump. also check in the radiator for signs of oil residue if not there check and see if you have water coming out of your exhaust pipe if so for either of those its you head gasket oh and check your oil to. our the worse part you have a cracked head. im going threw the same thing right now. i have oil in my radiator. i used the bars head gasket repair and it worked great but as hard as i am on my engine it broke loose the other day so im replacing the gasket and they run 50 bucks if you can reuse all the other gaskets. good luck

i checked it out today and let the car idle for a bit and the bottom radiator hose didnt heat up which means the water pump isnt working so im gonna replace the water pump and timing belt tomorrow

The lower hose not heating up could also mean Tstat not opening.

Are you only overheating at idle, or when driving?

Good to hear everything is running correctly. Let us know if you run into any more issues.

could be your engine temp sensor. Do your fans come on? If they don't, it is either your engine temp sensor or your fan relays. Honda has a freakin relay for everything and they don't seem to last long in the heat.
