1990 Acura Integra DOHC B18

I have a 1990 Acura Integra, and it is all stock B18 DOHC, 5 Speed. I really like it and wish to do more things to it. It has 17" gold Enkel rims, after market headers new exhaust, new distributor, new radiator, the car runs great. I would just like some suggestions on what more I could do with the car. Without doing a swap, for example increase the gas mileage, throttle response, Etc. There are a couple of problems like the sun roof does not work and I had to hot wire my headlights to my running taillights because there is a short somewhere in the wiring harness, in order to be street legal. If anyone has, anything they would like to share just let me know.

First suggestion, you might want to change that DHOC to DOHC or the grammar nazi's will attack you.

Turbo

ok so my 1990 Acura Integra LS is all stock, I was wandering if the engine is built for a turbo?

It's not built for a turbo. You need to build it up and upgrade it so it can handle the amount of boost pressure you wish to achieve. Slapping a turbo kit on a stock B18A1 wouldn't be the best idea as the engine would soon wear out. Where as if you upgrade the components of the engine to handle a proper turbo setup and have the car professionally tuned, than the result will be perfect. B18A1's are a great platform to build off of due to their lower compression than other B series motors. You can read more about turbo charging in the forced induction section of the forum.

Looking for my next Teg..
well a straight LS ( B18A/B) engine is efintely turbo friendly with the lower compression, BUT... it is not as easy as grab a turbo kit and slap it on ( unles you wanna be blowing up your motor) for that sort of project you want to make a plan, set a horsepower goal, then start saving money for parts, a tuner & aftermarket engine computer like Hondata or AEM EMS, etc...

As far as getting better throttle response and a little more power you can easily get that from bolt on accessories like Intake, Header, & exhaust system. thos won't set you back as far and don't necessarily require advanced tuning.

Well that seems like a great idea as far as HP, so I think I will work on that. Thanks guys.
