Hi all.. Well I recently had my car smoged and failed.
The guy at the smog station said I have no EGR Valve. My car was swapped from a automatic to a manual.
I was wonder does a manual acura have a EGR Valve?
Is it hard to replace?
And what else should I do when replacing EGR Valve. I found one for $45..
Any help is appreciated

Not sure about the law in your state but I thought after 20 years you no longer had to have emission check on your vehicle. And are you sure he was right. There right next to the fuel rail on passanger side.hooks to the intake on my auto you will probably have to get another intake for it if there's not a slot to hook it to there. Local junkyard should have one.

my 90 ls manual does NOT have an egr valve as far as i know. i know what it looks like and have look for it. I don't think the manuals need or have one? I thought it was an automatic thing only. Correct me if Im wrong. but good luck with emissions, here in pa they just test ur gas cap and if it passes then ur good for emissions. good luck man!

I'm pretty sure only autos have them. Because my teg throws an EGR code but it's because it's not even hooked up. Aftermarket intake mani ftw, or ftl. Whatever way you look at it haha

Yeah the manuals did not only autos. That's why I said you would have to get another I take but I don't k ow how you would hook it up with out the author wiring harness. I would just throw some iridium plugs and bigger wires new cap and rotor and some Lucas fuel treatment in it drive half a tank and get it detested and see what they say. Should burn clean enough to pass then also check your timing and if you have an adjusting le fuel reg. Turn it real lean lol then you will pass but don't drive far with it like that

I want to know how the 5spd integras recirculate exhaust gasses without an egr valve.

Can't you put a EOL (End of Line) Resistor on the EGR harness plug to keep the signal in a close loop circuit?
