I'm so pissed! after a terrible day at work when I'm not feeling well, i get home just now, to see a letter from the insurance company on the counter. About a month ago they send me a letter with a survery type of thing to apply for any possible discounts. I filled it out and sent it back. Now today they send me this letter with my new rate and everything because its time to renew my policy. After a year of perfect driving they are RAISING my rate $60 a month. Im going to call them and complain. If they dont do anything about it im cancelling and just walking everywhere.

treeafodo, I see that you're 17. That's a shitty age for insurance. Not sure how Canada is, but young males get raped by insurance companies here. It does get better though... I'm 21 with a clean record. I get full coverage on my 2000 GS for under $70 a month. Does your company offer a good student discount? Definitely shop around, the rates can change considerably. My fiancee just switched insurance. She had qoutes ranging from $450 a year up to $800 just for liability. There is hope of a better deal...

UUUHHHH-OOOOHHHHHHH...!!!
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Wells Fargoooooooo! You did me dirty!! I submitted a request to redeem all my business rewards points for some cool stuff a few weeks ago and now they're saying that someone must have called in and cancelled the order...over the phone...on the same day. LOL WTF?! I know I'm the only one with access to this account and card. Now I have to re-order and wait 4-6 weeks for delivery. Screw that. lol I'm going with the INSTANT e-Certificate option this time!

Yeah we get slammed here too. I just called them. They said it was because after getting my G2 license they give a discount. The discount is only effective for a year. So once I go in November for my full license they will lower it again.

As for student discounts I'm not enrolled in college right now. I'm taking a gap year to save up for college. I'm going to do everything I can to not take a loan for school.

Edit: I do feel a bit better now knowing it was nothing personal. But that's still a fairly steep increase.

Hey good plan on the college. I started saving for college at your age too. That along with taking some college in high school and help from the parents I was able to graduate with a BA and Instrument Pilot's License loan free. Good luck with college!

And seriously, I'd call around to other agencies. Ask them to beat your current one's price. If they do, go back to your current one and ask them to beat the other's offer. Make them compete for your business!

Just call me chris.
College for the win. I need to get back in. Only have a year left for my degree and another 2 for grad school.

What is a G2 license, Tree Sissy?
Well we have 3 licenses here.

G1 is your beginners permit. You can't drive over 80 kph (50 mph I think?) You can Only drive with a fully licensed driver in the passenger seat.

G2 is your second (which I have now). You can drive anywhere, any time. But your only allowed 1 passenger between midnight and 5am

G is your full unrestricted license.

I've tried. This is my cheapest rate by over $100( per month) I'll just go for my full license in November then and that will make it back to what it was.
