So I'm probably gonna sell my teg soon. And I have my eyes set on a 93 jdm. What's the deal with jdm? I know the lights are diff. Probably stupid question. New to integras. Don't make fun to hard. Lol.

a jdm integra from model year 93 is a third gen

the difference is:
right hand drive
motor
and cosmetic differences

my question is if it is a true jdm car, how did it end up in the US?

if it is in fact jdm then make sure it was imported legally and make sure you get the papers to prove it

jdm car in the us + no/not enough papers = the compactor

if the police impound the car and you dont have enough papers i dont think there is any way to get it back. in some rare occasions they will auction the car off for off road/track use only. if they put it up in an auction and it does not get sold or the auction is skipped, it will be made into a cube and you will be at a total loss

i suggest:
1. uncovering if it is a real jdm car
2. is doing a lot of research to see what paperwork the car needs to be legal
3. making sure the car has every single piece of paper it needs

This plus make sure the importer isn't shady. You don't want to end up like those people that bought Skylines from MotoRex.

Naw there are ways to get them imported and have a US vin, you just need to know someone in the dmv and have alot of $$$$$

But they are illegal because

DOT says so
emissions say so (depending on what state)
etc etc.

The only "legal" car to import from japan (from recent history) is any motorex skyline
