I'm about to replace my timing belt and have been search for a good price on a kit. So far I know I want a gates kit and the number is TCKWP247. I found it at rockauto for $80. Seems to me this price is to good to be true. Have anyone had experience with them before?

EDIT: I should clarify that this has to do with a bad experience about 4 years ago, and my subsequent research at the time. It sounds like they have stepped up their game, and my post is probably no longer relevant.

I wouldn't buy anything from rockauto. I made that mistake once, never again. Their customer service sucks, they often ship the wrong thing, they rape you on shipping, etc..., etc...

Damn.... That's not what I wanted to hear lol. Let's see what others have to say about them.

Reddit is fun.
are you guys serious? Rockauto is one of the best places to order parts from. I've ordered plenty of parts for multiple cars from there with no problems at all. The prices are unmatched and their stock in products are huge.

I ordered my Gates timing belt kit from them and I'm very happy with it. Ordered all my belts, windshield wipers, rotors, pads, etc. for my Integra from them. They are a very highly respected website and I rarely hear about anyone having problems.

I highly recommend the site.

I've heard a lot of good things about them to but I'm just worried that I'm gonna get a fake product cuz the price is half of what I find everywhere else.

Definitely wasn't my experience, or that of others once I started looking into the company, but that was a while ago. Maybe they've gotten their shit together since then.

On behalf of RockAuto I would like to take the time to let you know that RockAuto customer service consistently scores very well in customer surveys performed by Customer Lobby and others.

http://www.customerlobby.com/reviews/5604/rockautocom/

We sell original GM and Ford parts from AC/Delco and Motorcraft, aftermarket parts from "Tier 1" OEM suppliers like Monroe, Gates & Federal-Mogul, parts imported from Asia and Europe at incredible prices (like Brembo brake rotors, Flennor sensors, the full line of Quinton Hazell parts, Mann & Hummel filters, Behr Radiators, and ATE brakes), remanufactured parts from leading companies like A1 Cardone, and specialty parts from small companies you may not have heard of (like repair manuals on CD from Detroit Iron and Ford Explorer armrest repair kits from Heritage). Everything we sell comes at the everyday low RockAuto price with a full manufacturer warranty.

Thank you,

x2 i'd much rather believe a respectable member on this site rather than someone random who made an account just to respond to a small little thread like this one.

Wow that was intense! Never thought that creating this review thread would actually compel the company to join and post! I think I need a high five.

And I can see both sides. Once and awhile a company will slip up and when they do its usually bad lol. I'm gonna do some more asking around and then decide.

Thank you everyone for your input!

UUUHHHH-OOOOHHHHHHH...!!!
IMO, if you've only dealt with a company one time and had a bad experience, it's not really saying much. lol As long as they work to rectify the issue, they're okay in my book. This is regarding "often" shipping the wrong parts, etc. Mistakes happen.
