Painted some plastics today.

i painted some plastics and my sun visors today. thought id share my progress. far from done! let me know what you think so far.

the driver side pillar


previous owner had a air fuel ratio gauge in a pod and drilled holes in the plastic to mount the pod but it wasnt hooked up when i got the car and dont feel i need it so its gone now



filled the holes with plastic filler


a little bondo


smoothed out and first coat, also did the top seatbelt mount cover


passenger side done and back in


and i also did the visors a week ago but just now got the pics



thats all ive got for now. tomorrow im going to get some material to cover the head liner. also have some other things im working on that i will post up as soon as im done.

I used Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric spray. Just like a can of spray paint but works 100x better. I just stuffed up the plastics with some 1000 grit so I wouldn't get deep scratches then washed it with soapy water. Let dry then sprayed. All I did was wipe the visors down teal good then spray them. Stuff does the job well

Nope. Seats are already black. The only thing I have left to do is the back side window plastics and the headliner. But the headliner is going to get wrapped on somethong. Just not sure what yet.

i used that stuff on my seats has been on there for about 5 months now looks alright but you need to do like 5 coats if you want them to be dark black. at first its crispy and weird but it gets soft again. traps lint like a mother tho lol

Ever heard of Rick Bacon? He's on of the host on the spike show Musclecar. There was a episode he used that stuff on some seats and did some crazy shit with it. He's a damn good painter.
