Some of my favorites in no particular order - De La Soul, The Jungle Brothers, BDP, NWA, Beastie Boys (Paul's Boutique for the sampling alone), Run DMC, Public Enemy, Biz Markie, Slick Rick (& Doug E. Fresh), Gang Starr, A Tribe Called Quest, LL Cool J vs Kool Moe Dee...

Public Enemy
WuTang, and all their solo's
A Tribe Called Quest
Eric B & Rakim
Ice T
NWA
Ice Cube, Easy E's early 90's solo albums
2 Live Crew
Beastie Boys
Onyx - one of the more underrated 90's acts I think.
Cypress Hill's early albums
Geto Boys early stuff

Midnight Marauders is a great ATCQ album, their last album is my least favorite.
Dre The Chronic and Snoop's DoggyStyle were epic, poor Snoop peaked with his first album, never made one as good since.
