nah.. i didnt remove it. i was just bored and this is what happens when you have your stock parts laying around.

i present to you, my OEM LS muffler :thumbs up
i like to call it my i-RS axle back







i still gotta shine up the face of it. gonna pick up some metal polish crap.. you know.. that cotton looking stuff..

but this is what i used..

-hand held grinder to chop off the bracket
-sandpaper (320, 600wet, 1000wet, 2000wet)
-flat black hi-temp paint (for the bracket and sides)
-$7 pepboys exhaust tip
-angle saw (to make the slash tip)
-welder

all-in-all, i spent 10 bucks to make my oem muffler look like this. the bracket wont be visible because of the bumper hiding it. thats also why the top isnt as polished.

lol coy i did the exact same thing with my mid pipe + muffler xD. Now it's hanging from the top of my garage on bike hooks.

if someone asks me what kind of muffler it is, i'll tell em its the UK spec ITR :rolf:

update: the bra is finally back on and i bought some vinyl to go in that empty spot behind the front license plate

So you only went as far as 2000 and it looks that shiny? Also did you throw any clear over it?

i just wetsanded 2000 and used a little bit of rubbing compound and elbow grease bro

LOL, I bet it would cost me over $75 one way to get that muffler to cali. Its not small...


Might have to do that to mine one weekend if I get some time. The tip is all nice and polished. But the bit of the muffler behind it is just painted silver.

the sand paper i used was just like how i described it.
it'll turn out way more mirror-like after the metal polish stuff im gonna pick up tomorrow. then new pics of it again..

the tip was bought chrome. from pepboys, autozone, local auto store
the muffler face itself is all sanded. no paint. the only paint is the black on the sides and bracket. my finger tips are killing me smalls!!
