Anyone ever done a Speed Ventures event? How does it work

I want to go to one of the upcoming Buttonwillow CW-13 track days, how does the event work?

What does it cost? I already created an account on speedventures.com, and it says registration will open soon for the event on July 31st. Any info on helping me getting started in road race days would be nice thanks lol.

I've been building my civic's suspension up a little, just some basics, and getting the car ready for the track and I really want to hit up buttonwillow sometime soon. I got new blox control arms, energy suspension bushings, and an oil cooler setup, along with a couple vital gauges, and am prototyping some aero work

I run with SV quite a bit. It's really simple. You buy your event, print your tech sheet, and go. First timers should have an instructor. Also, you should sign up in White group.

I just ran Buttonwillow CW 13 two weeks ago and it cost me $190. They jacked up the BW prices lol.

SV doesn't tech cars, the owner does. You just need to print the tech form from their website and fill it out. You turn it in when you check in. Also, you need a helmet - preferably Snell SA rated '05 but M rated will do as well. Also, I suggest renting a transponder so you can get lap times.

Be careful w/ the Blox rear LCA's, the bushings don't usually hold up to track duty.

If you haven't gotten tires yet I suggest Yokohama S.Drives. Very forgiving and will more than hold their own on the track, and will also expose ALL of your weak points. If you already have tires, it's all good.

I'm probably going to this event as well, so see you out there hopefully :thumbs up

We're running Streets of Willow in a few weeks too. If you can make it out to that one you should, SOW is a much better beginner course than BW.

Well let me know about what track you run and ill try to go. But this is how it goes. You have to download the tech packet prior to going to the track, they will provide you with it via emial and you tech your car. i marked yes to everything.

When you register it will be around 190$ depending on track (thats average so cal price with transiver) You will then register in a bracket, white being beginner blue intermediate beginner. when you go there you will go to a drivers meeting and they will explain the track and flags and shit to remember. Then white group will do another meeting and talk about the lines on track and flags. you will go out and someone will drive the first lap for you in your car so you can see the lines of the track. Then you get to drive it. after that you will go to another download meeting to discuss what happened. this will happen for the next 2 runs but you will drive 100% of the time. The instructor may say no passing or you have to pass here its all up to him.

last two sessions you are free to race :thumbs up



I highly recomend doing auto x first to get a feel of a track day at the very least. its EXTREMLY intimidatiing to go out and do a track day by your self. so holla at me at auto x or SV ill go with you

Dylan they started doing things differently for White. They now have the first session as a parade-speed lap, THEN two instructor sessions, then two free sessions. It's kinda dumb but there are so many n00bs that were messing up I guess they felt it was necessary :what:

Looks like Dylan and Nick got to this thread before I did. Good job my fellow track sluts. I can't wait to get back out on the track with the DC2. :drive:

IM SERIOUS AS FAWK idk about nick but i want to get some track time in before dec when we go again, and if i feel confident doing blue in dec i wanna run with you n nick
