Check the tightness off your e-brake...It could be to tight and activating the light...Try adjusting it.

i had the same problem in my lude. i would just pull it back up and let it off enough times for the light to turn off. annoying, but not really a major problem.

It's a senor on the actual e brake. Get a Haynes manual and check it out.

Brake fluid doesn't have anything to do with it.

on G2's, the Brake light (same light on the dash that corresponds with the e-brake) will come on if the brake fluid is low. I can personally vouch for checking the fluid. If you look on the master cylinder, the cap that goes over the fluid reservoir ("screws on" with about a 1/4 turn, and is air tight) will have two wires coming from it. they sense how much fluid is in the reservoir.

IF you check your sensors on the parking brake AND the fluid, and they both come out fine, go to a junkyard and get a new "cap" for the master cylinder. its easier and cheaper than fixing the sensor. depending on what junkyard you go to, you can just snipe it right off and not have to pay for it. its a VERY easy fix, and will literally take a minute, just unplug the wires, plug up the new wires, put cap on, done.

this much, I could be mistaken on, but i THIIIINK that the cap is the same on pretty much all Integras. Might even be the same as any civic with a similar brake setup (Si's etc.) as the Integra.

hope that helps.

If your brake fluid is full and your ebrake functions properly, then try these things

There is a float in the in the cap that keeps an eye on the fluid level. Take the cap off and check it to make sure it's not stuck. Clean it out and move it around. A lot of time, this is caused by the float being stuck, not the fluid being low

If that doesn't help then try removing the filter in the M/C. The only thing it filters is the fresh fluid you pour in. You shouldn't be pouring contaminated fluid in anyway. But the filter can cause problems with the fluid level reading as well

E-brake disengagement has no effect on that light. The light just has a direct correlation to the e-brake handle position, not what the actual rear brakes are doing.

First of all, it's not an "E-brake Light." It's a Brake System Warning Light.

The light illuminates when your PARKING brake is set, to WARN you that your parking brake is set. It will also illuminate if there is a malfunction, or excessive wear in your braking system. The brake fluid level directly corresponds with brake pad wear. If your brake pads are worn out, and your brake fluid reads low, then the light will illuminate to tell you to have the brakes checked out ASAP.

It's like a Check Engine light for your brake system. It serves MANY purposes.
