s2000 cluster project

orthello

The Dutch Guy
What should be fixed?

Welll... I was in the proces of moving to a new house. Since last week everything is ready wrt the new house. Now first the hollydays are coming.
I'll get back to the S2000 converter project in January. PCB designs are ready. But production didn't start yet. I'm doing this in my spare time ;)

Managed so far.

All indicator lights..... working (all simple old school 12v or gnd switched indicator lights. Connects 1-to-1 to the original wires)
VSS ..... working (pulse needs to be about 39 times faster)
ECT..... working (some sort op PWM-ish signal with 30ms high and 150ms to 1500ms low. With 1500ms beeing cold and 150ms beeing hot)
ODO..... altered to match my original ODO reading (desolder the 93c56 eprom. Create backup of content. Alter content to match your ODO. Solder it back)
mile/km switch.... working (desolder the 93c56 eprom. Create backup of content. Alter content to enable the button. Solder it back)

So.... all the complex/research work is done and documented along this thread.
The final product is in progress. PCB design is ready. Now I need to do the etching of the PCB's. I'll start with that in January.
Until then.... happy hollydays.

^ there was some unrelated content on the thread. Already had the moderator take take of it. Good progress man.

next project in effect  konerri should like this shiet :p i found a guy on ebay doing custom sheets of carbon fiber. i got my piece $30 shipped to my house. the quality looks pretty good, the wave is tight, but its mot totally smooth so its not 100% perfect but i'd rate it a 7.9/10 not bad i think for something custom. i just gott figure out whats the best way for me to trim the cut-out without damaging or cracking anything. any idea guys? :what:

gas gauge question

I measured the resistance values in the gas level meter from my car's gas tank (talking about a 06 honda accord here)... and my values are:

full: 20 ohm
empty: 745 ohm

quite a difference from the s2k cluster which I understand to be

full : 11 - 13 ohm
empty 130 - 132 ohm

from all of your research.

how do i convert that signal? it looks like i can't just add a resistor to the signal..

30 shipped is cheap.

as for the ohm problem. There is no easy way. your going to needs a need microprocessor and some variable digital potentiometers.

oh i forgot to add.

so i emailed the guy the made the carbon fiber panel, he says to use a flow of water while cutting it with a dremel so its doesn't get too dusty and wear gloves to prvent the dust from contacting the skin. he says its 10x more itchy than fiberglass

now thats a real helpful adice

rain = free time for me... so i got started on the custom bezel for the s2k cluster. I didn't have any tools for this so i just did t the cave man way. laid it down on the conrete in my backyard and started going at it... lol. ghetto yes, but it got the job done... and with a little filling, it turned out nice. I'd rate it a 8.3/10 job... so iim going to even it out a tad bit more.

here's a cut out of the s2k cluster face, perfect cut out too, i shoulda kept the other side of the cut out, but i think i threw it out long ago when i made the template.

here's the problem with the integra bezel, its too curvy for anything to lay against it... so instead i grinded it down. i took pictures of both for comparison.

this is pretty much what its goign to end up being cut out. what do you guys think? its not like i have any other spots to locate/position the cluster... lol

so getting a white pen, making an outline... and buying some fine discs for the dremel will be the next task to get it going. Im not quite sure if i will use that black trimming on the s2k cluster... cause i might just screw the carbon fiber panel to it... we'll see when iwe get that far.

Spent most of the day today working on these formulas and graphs for the input -> output Specifications. I also finished the prototype program and finished the Prototype P-Dip hardware version of the converter today. The only thing left is the final testing on my bench. Once everything is OK, we'll all have car ready units.

If you look at the following and your brains starts to hurt after a couple of seconds, you just might want to stop.

There is a lot of timing involved and everything is done in the Microseconds.

WELL HERE YOU GO WORLD, EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW INORDER TO BUILD YOUR OWN CONVERTER BOX. iF YOU USE THIS INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO THIS THREAD. IT IS WHAT OPEN SOURCE IS ALL ABOUT

Here is all of the information.
I got a 95 RHD Honda Integra Type R. I've got the new tachometer called G-tech Pro EGS tachometer it has a seperate module that lets you moniter anything through the tachometer and since my car is in KPH i was going to use the information provided by Konerri and was wondering if the ECT temp is from the integra cluster.

i need some help to match my ODO to my s2k cluster.

i read the chip and make back up.

but i dont really know how to make the change in bin file...

its possible to have more explain?

S2k Can EEPROM code,

my cluster have 54352km in HEX its D450, but if i change in the bin file where its write D4 50, it didnt work.

the ECT graph is a voltage to Coolant temperature relationship. The equation basically sums it all up.
