there is indeed several options to replace it. the nicest and best one is probably to go with a short always up antenna. from what i hear they have the best reception, and look the best. but you can also get a relocater to the rear wind shield. you can remove it from inside the trunk. you have to remove the platic cover and unscrew the antenna itself from the outside. sorry i cant give you more detail right now im at work.

If you decide to go with the S2K antenna, make sure you also get the signal amplifier or else it'll be purely cosmetic and not very functional.

Another, cheaper option is the Fuba Shark II antenna.

that cheaper option: fuba shark II, does it give good reception? do i need anything else beside the antenna? thanks

I just got a replacement for mine.

I got mine from a member on ebay "locustom". Also, www.locustom.com.

Easy. Follow the guide on TI, use the black coaxial and then splice into the yellow wire on the connector from the antenna.

i installed the s2k antenna when i first got my car coz the oem antenna wouldn't go down. the only reception i lost was the AM station (which i don't listen to anyway). just like what they said, it's pretty easy to install. i got mine from ebay and he also had the instruction on his page. good luck.

haha same goes for me. Very interested in this topic. Same-ish problem goes for me. OEM Antenna doesn't go down at all. Looks a bit silly. It's always up and its long as hell. i checked out that locustom, and their antennas look awesome.
