Oh, the GSX is perfectly fine

The stupid daily driver GST is the one with the alternator problem. Here goes alternator swap number 7. Atleast I've done it so many times that it only takes me 20 minutes now. It's not about the money or labor that pisses me off. It has a lifetime warranty so it's free, plus I can do it really quick. But it's just getting annoying

probably dont those nhra drag cars get overhauled after every run?
yeah they do a whole lot of shit to those cars inbetween runs... they have a whole team to rebuild those engines inbetween runs... i dont know the extent of those runs... but i know that they wear thick ass gloves because the engine is still soo hot. i mean you have to imagine with the amout of power coming out of those engines they cant last very long...

I've checked everything. I rewired all battery cables and grounds as well as alternator wiring with better, less resistant wiring and connections. There are no shorts or drains. I tested every single circuit in the entire car a while back ago.

That is what is pissing me off about it. I know it's not a wiring issue. The only other two factors are heat and liquids. The power steering pump is right above the alternator as well as the dipstick. But my car has zero leaks. I understand it could be rain getting in there since I don't have the engine bay undertray but it hasn't seen rain in about 2 months and I replaced it 18 days ago.

The only other alternator killer would be heat. There is no excessive heat or a huge turbo, o2 housing, or downpipe that is lingering dangerously close to the alternator. The EVO3 16G has plenty of clearance as well as the o2 housing.

I already bought a Fluidyne radiator for the GST. It's going in so that will help with heat (although I know that can't be the problem) I'm looking for the undertray to keep water out. I will probably go ahead and heat wrap the o2 housing and upper portions of the downpipe to see if it makes a difference

I'm just going to get the plastic engine bay undertray from a part out car. There is nothing really to shield it from besides rain/roadspray. The car doesn't leak oil or P/S fluid. It can't be the heat. If heat was the problem then my GSX would have this problem times ten. The GT3037 Pro S is much larger than the 16G and sit right next to the alternator. Plus that car has double the HP, I'm sure the alternator on it has endured much more considering track events and whatnot. It still has the original OEM alt.

I've been sold on the fact that it was just getting wet, which may be true. This one may have just been a POS. My last one crapped out during Ike. Obviously water
