Update:

ok well turns out, after alot of cam removals a few of the cam cap holes got stripped. so Im pulling that head off to be built at a later date. I have a spare head but I dont know much about it. So, Im pulling it apart for new valve seals, to have it shaved and to clean it up.

Well since my valves are difficult to reach with regular valve spring comressors and the one meant for this style head is over $100....Fuck that. I came up with something. A socket, notched out to I can acess my valve keepers.

Wala!

This used with the craftsman c-clamp stlye compressor worked great.

Well about 30 min later, I have a bare head

16 bags of valves,springs and retainers

Old valve seals anyone?

Tomorrow Ill be calling up a few shops around town to get estimates on shaving the head for me.

yea just came off a 99 neon r/t and not another cirrus. But they are exactly the same

Picking up new valve seals tomorrow. Doesnt seem like i can find a machine shop around here that knows how to pick up a phone

quick almost off topic question! wont it have more torque then horse power then just burn out till about 3rd gear when racing? haha thats what happened to my friend in his SRT4 When he would drag he literally burned out till 4th gear! coulnt get traction! so i decided it would be a great rally car if it was rear wheel drive! haha fullproof! but i really like what you have done!

well yea, but this is a n/a 2.4, its not a SRT spec engine.

Well..the head had to be milled .020 to get the warp out...w00t!

and the valve seats and valve have to be ground down so they sit properly. Hopefully by Tuesday Ill have it back

Ill probably be picking the head up on tuesday.
I picked up a roof rack for the thing, havent decided if Im going to slap it on. And since the shop that my head i at is about 6 miles from the junk yard. Im going to stop in there and get some mud flaps that were on the car I got the roof rack off of.
