Ok guys, i changed my thermostat to a low temp one. I flush the raditor and added new fluid with the redline water wetter additive. moved my raditor up closed to the raditor support away from the down pipe. i wrapped my down pipe with thermal wrap. Changed my coolant temp sensor. i checked my spark plugs for any luqid in the spark plug valves or on the spark plug. changed my oil doesn't look like milkshake, looks like healthly good oil. BUT IM STILL OVER HEATING LIKE A B**CH, BUT A GOOD THING IS THAT IT TAKES A LONG TIME FOR IT TO OVER HEAT ON A GOOD TEMP WEATHER. MORE OR LESS LIKE DRIVING 2 HOURS STR8 AND NOT PUSHING IT OR BOOSTING. ON A WEATHER LIKE TODAY AT 90' OVER HEATS WICKED FAST, AND I KNOW TURBOS DONT LIKE HOT OR HUMID AIR.[/B] now any help guys?!?! AND if i was to have a blown head gasket it would have full potentional power.. right?.... It would run like shit and probably give me a hard time to crank the motor at idle.my car run strong and good it just it over heats wicked fast and can't drive it ne where i want to go like to another town or city.

1.May it be a water pump?

or what can it be?!?! SOOO MADD AHHH!! :evil:any help would help please, advice, ideas ne thing....

thanks

It could be a water pump, but I think that it is either a bad thermostat or maybe air in the system. Does it do it while your moving or just sitting?

are your fans cutting on? try bleeding the system. leave the cap off, start the car and let it get to operating temp and your fans should cut on. it will pull coolant thru the head and you will probably see some bubbles come out of the radiator if you had air in the system. let it cycle like this two or three times. if your car starts to overheat, obviously turn it off. what kind of fluid were you running previously? if you run just water, your water pipe will rust and corrode, you could have something blocking the coolant passage

Are you sure there's no air in the coolant system? Did you let the engine get hot enough for the thermostat to open when you refilled the coolant? And did you run the heat too?

yeah you guys i tried to get all of the air pockets out i let my car run for about a good hr or so and fan kicks on thermostat opens and everything. but i think it might be a bad thermostat too.... i dont know u guys and it does it when im driving collection hot air....

WHAT KIND OF THERMO did you put in there? if it was something from like autozone or advanced, it could very well be bad already.

are you sure your thermastat is installed correctly? is the little needle thingy pointing up? probably is its jus something that could keep it from workin correctly

yeah the thermostat should be correct. i bought it at my work which is autozone. but i bought the fail-safe one, that locks up and let coolant run untill engine done overheating.i also bought a new o-ring for it too but u can also reuse it but i decided not too. I think im just going to rip the head, take a look at everything and if the headgasket is smoke ill just go up to my local acura and pick up head gaskest, waterpump, and timing belt.... this shit sucks man.. like big balls... makes me made when my teggy runs like this... i never took the head off. how hard is it and about how long. im going to do it with my friend and he works at the lexus dealer ship. by all means acura wanted $1600.00 dollars to do it... yeah right huh? thats soo much money.. ne advice, please help.

I highly doubt it's the water pump. You should try bleeding the coolant system through the bleeder valve by your upper radiator hose and if not put a new thermostat in. Or to see if it's the thermostat, just take it out and see if it still overheats.

i can't bleed my coolant system... I got a LS. only Gsr's and type R's have the bleeder screw on the upper raditor hose on the water neck.

Think we covered this in a different thread that replacement necks eliminated the bleeder valve, which is retarded. Pretty sure after a certain year they stopped putting them on also, I'm not sure why they would eliminate it though. I still have one on my LS.

jack the front of you car up as high as it will go...literally i'm talkin like 3 feet high if you can get it there. Turn the car on and let it heat up and blast your heat. Take the radiator cap off and start massaging hoses. Massage everything from the upper and lower radiator hoses to the heater core hoses and even your iacv hoses. Do it until your car has gone through a complete heat cycle. This is how you bleed a cooling system. I bet you'll get air bubbles :)
