Ive had my DA for a few months now and im getting sick of the interior (previous owners dog tore it all up)

its been in the garage this weekend while i was doing the clutch and ive started removing interior panels here and there. does anyone know about how much my car would weigh after i removed all the interior panels? excluding sound deadining, dash and seats. its a 91 LS special

the sound deadening is probably what makes the most difference. im sure ill get around to taking it out at some point. what else could i remove to really lighten it up?

Rear seat, spare tire, passenger seat.... I remember we took everything except the gauge cluster, driver seat, and passenger seat out of my buddy's neon and it was noticeably faster on the butt dyno.

Just strip everything out. lol

wait what? lol That's confusing...

removing your wiper won't take much weight out, but weight is weight i guess soo..

If you really want, take all the a/c and power stearing stuff off. that'll take at least a good 50 pounds off your front end.

^^ lol!!

wow....

Another thing you could take out is the heat exhanger under the dash. that gets heavy

I'm lost!
why not wiehg the int parts when you take them out that way you know how heavy that was then look up the spec of the car and - the int weight and thats ur car????

Power steering, A/C, spare tire/jack, and heater core removal will save quite a bit

More importantly though, removing unsprung weight. Lighter brakes, suspension and wheels will have a much more profound effect

back seats are the only thing i would take out, helps a good bit, spare tire weigh like 30lbs i believe

then one of the most gangsta things ever is a lightweight bettery 15lbs!!

Yeah but havin a light weight car as a DD sucks when you get a flat at like 3 in the mornin mashin home from the bar on the side of the freeway. A spare tire is always good insurance unless you got a AAA card or something
