Boosting

Water injection? meaning? so approx.10-15 with a good tune. IM gonna use an Safc2, and an FCU with the MSD BTM. IM gona have the people at Engine Logics( Houston) do the tuning. Would that be a good enough tune for ya?

I'm not sure I would tune to 15psi on stock internals with an Apexi SAFC. 15psi is possible with stock internals but the SAFC has limitations that I wouldn't like to push on stock internals. The SAFC intercepts the MAP sensor signal and modifies it to trick your computer to deliver more fuel. By modifying the portion of the tuning maps it is using, it alters the ignition timing as well. Eventually you end up chasing your tail to try to get the right fuel out of the SAFC and and trying to keep the ignition timing out of whack. Using larger injectors and tuning with an SAFC, you will have to reduce your fuel enrichment over stock to compensate for the larger injectors, which will cause the ECU to use more advanced ignition timing which isn't exactly safe or precise. I would think about tuning with something more precise. Also if you are doing it in Houston, I would consider SGP Racing and Stoopidfast. They are very good. IMO SGP Racing is the best shop in Houston.

i was thinking about boosting... but then i need to rebuild the engine sinc e i have high mileage =/
i have a hook up for a greedy turbo kit plus hondata and he can tune it really good. just have to pay the turbo and installing and tunning is free.

Level 10 doesn't sell transmissions, they sell parts and build them. Stage 2 tq converter is about $600 and the rebuild kit which includes everything is about $400. This doesn't include labor. If you send your tranny in they will build it to your specs and make it "bullitproof", but you will pay out the ass. The problem you'll run into boosting the auto is with fuel management. Unless you buy a kit like agreddy where they include it, you're screwed. I looked all over for fuel management for autos and they are next to impossible to find. I would skip using a safc for tuning a turbo. You'll either lean it out at higher rpms, or bog all the time from running rich. If you find an auto-fuel management system, let me know.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Piggy back and stand alone engine management functions the same regardless if its an auto or standard. Granted running piggyback will have you chasing your tail as i said earlier but it has nothing to do with your tranny

Try finding a piggyback or stand alone for an automatic. Believe me Iv'e looked. AEM, Greddy, Hondatata only offer for manual transmissions. If you know of one, let me know.

The Apexi SAFC, Greddy Emanage, AEM EMS, MoTeC, Haltech etc.

They all work on auto's. I've seen all of them on automatic GSX eclipses

Thats cause the GSX comes from the factory with a turbo already. Most companies only offer for manual tegs. I know there are companies out there but I havent found any. I thought bout the safc but that just adjusts your air fuel as a whole so you re either running lean at full boost or running rich while daily driving. Too bad hondata won't support auto's.

Ok, ill let DC2 school you on the tuning piece. Ill take the Level 10 piece. "They dont make trasmissions," yes they do. Anyplace that will build a trans uses the stock housing and gut it out (like level 10 will). With that $600 TQC and the $400 rebuild you will have something that will be just as fast as a manual. But perfect in all shifts and launches. No one on here can clam perfection on a manual. And for paying out the ass? How? The parts? Labor suprisingly isnt bad, hell if you get a manual you can DIY (if you would be up for that). But having a shop do it isnt "out the ass." You will still be WAY under the cost of a manual conversion, not to mention much better than one. The manual conversions never seem to line up with the pedels, and the cruise control ive alot of issues with. All in all if you have the auto dont swap, upgrade it.

Their are alot of full on tuners that support autos. But EPROM will be by-far the easyest

Let me rephrase that. You can't buy a complete tranny form level 10, you have to send one out and they build it for you. I don't remember off hand how much they charge, but with shipping, it's like 3-400$more than having a local shop do the rebuild. Shippings like $100. The only reason to have them do it over a local shop is the quality, but if you have a reputable transmission place, you can save money. Iconsidered doing a turbo trying to tune whith a safc, upgrading fuel pump and injectors, etc.. My tegs my primary car so blowing the motor isn't appealing. If anyone knows of a resonablky priced fuel management for an auto teg, please let me know.

ok someone offering me a turbo kit for 400 bucks at my school. i have an auto ls. i dont really want to put that much boost.im not worried about the total performance out of it till i do some other stuff, but i would still like to have one. But i want a turbo, yet be fairly safe since i drive this car everywhere.

PS. i dont know to much about forced induction
