@Nick, yeah a little scared of sucking water. Is it pissible from just driving in hte rain or what not, or is it really nothing to worry about

Only a problem if it is submerged...however, if you don't have the funder liner and your wheel can fling water on the filter openly I can see that being an issue as well.

In reality CAI should stand for California Air Intake... because its the only place I would use one. In areas with more rain its a risk regardless.

Shit, ive had to pull off at rest stops, and home depots to change from CAI to SRI lol.

Samurai, what do you mean switching it from Cai to Sri. Is it just taking the downtube off and putting the filter on the first tube

I pulled the entire thing. i carry 2 intakes when i go to the track. You can get that hydro filter thing for your CAI they also have bags as well

I had a friend drive into a 4" puddle and hydrolock his crap with a stock air intake. Personally, (and I know I'll get flack for this) I would never run a CAI on a daily driven car unless you carry two intakes like what was said

Carry and worry about switching 2 intakes or sacrifice the 1/2 hp you might gain.... tough choice

Consider the icebox design. No hydrolock worries and better performance wise if you're willing to build it yourself. Put a hole in the bottom of your filter box with a rubber flap on the inside. Allows water drain and prevents high vacuum.

I think he means high vacuum to suck up water. Kind of like if you have a crack in a straw..ever had that happen at a fast food place? Can't get liquid to save your life.
