That would be awesome man! Love seeing 2nd Gens on the track. I'll post a link to a video on your Facebook of an acquaintance of mine who races his DA in the MotoIQ PTCC (Pacific Tuner Car Championship) and NASA Honda Challenge. His DA used to rock a B20 non-VTEC. Now it's a B20/VTEC with mostly OEM internals. It's pretty legit and he's a damn good driver as well.
I'll check it out, thanks!

Registered for my first track event of the year on Sunday, February 9th at SOW (Streets of Willow) with Speed Ventures. I'll be competing in HFF Challenge (Modified Class) for the very first time as well. Excited to finally get in some seat time!
whats the traditional way to track that course? is the skid pad the first turn or the bowl?

So last Friday, I took the day off from work to take care of a few errands. I had my brother's BB6 smogged (passed legally with flying colors!), paid its registration, paid for Lana's (FG3) registration, and finally went to the shop to work on DJ. I had to get her ready for our first track event of the year at SOW (Streets of Willow) in Rosamond, CA with Speed Ventures. The event is this coming Sunday and wlll be our very first HFF (Honda Front engine, Front-wheel drive) Challenge event. Due to the class rules and regulations, I'll be competing in the Modified Class, mainly due to DJ being equipped with a test pipe. I don't want to keep switching from a cat and test pipe between track days, so I said, "Fuck it.". I'm just going to keep DJ the way she is and just run. I'm more concerned about getting in seat time than placing podium in HFF. If for some reason I do place, then that's just icing on the cake. I'm just grateful for getting back out on the track.

A couple of months ago, I noticed a small leak coming from the valve cover, so I had the valve cover gasket replaced. I replaced the old cam seal with a brand new one as well. After that, I had to tackle the annoying brake pedal stopper problem. Last year, right before my Thunderhill event with NCRC, the plastic brake pedal stopper broke while I was driving on the freeway, which then made my brake lights fully engaged. Once I got to the track, I was able to get a small bolt and washer from some friends a temporary fix the problem. On the way back home to SoCal, the bolt slipped off, which then cause the brakes to engage even when my foot was off the brake pedal. I pulled over and adjusted the bolt and was able to drive all the way back home to Temple City without a problem.

Back to present day... While I was at the shop, Loi Hua from Loi-Spec Garage happened to stop by and suggested that I use a penny and a washer to fix the problem. He super glued the penny and washer together and simply fitted them in place of the bolt and washer that I originally had in place and TADA! The brake pedal switch problem was solved! Thanks again Loi!

I originally wanted to finish installing my Eibach 25mm rear sway bar, but the hardware that I got for the endlinks were too narrow. The bols that come with the Eibach endlinks will not work with aftermarket LCAs. Unless you have OEM LCAs, you'll need to buy longer bolts to make everything bolt up properly. Romeo Gerolaga offered to go to Ace Hardware to pick up the properly sized bolts for me this week. So I'll be making one more trip to the shop before heading to SOW on Sunday to finish everything up.

So my GS-R head finally arrived from the machine shop. The results are absolutely night and day. Nick Elia AKA BigMAc88can vouch for me since he was the original owner. I still need a few more parts to complete the VTEC conversion. I'm not in a big rush since I stll want to track DJ without VTEC just a little while longer. My goal is to hit under 2:10.xxx at Buttonwillow #13 CW before going VTEC. Until then, the B20/VTEC conversion will have to wait.

I had a pad made of some type of plastic....it cracked and fell out. I went and bought a pack of rubber ones from AZ that fit so I should be good for a long time

We'll see how long Loi's penny/washer trick will last. I was too lazy to drive to Acura to pay for the OEM stopper. It costs like $2 + change.
