If you did an NES controller, how about a Game Boy or Game Boy Color? Cut out the center of the screen to show the Apple logo, possibly photoshop an 8-bit logo into it instead.

I used to have an itr valve cover case on my iPhone. It was pretty cool actually, but I can't remember what site it was from.
