Fog light wiring

Okay guys. I've used the search thread, read up on literally every single post from the users and still no avail.

a set of REPLICA fogs were given to me as a gift and i mounted everything successfully, but the wiring is where i'm having trouble.

i'm gonna try to diagram this without any photos, but i'm SURE i plugged everything correctly.

passenger fog ---------------(wire)----------------------driver fog.

driver fog wire to >>>> brown plug under the hood wrapped in blue tape leading to high beam(?)

that's one set of wires.

the other set of wires has a relay, a switch, around 2 more brown tabs to plug, and a ground wire. i plugged one into the Fuse auxiliary #2 and the other one all the way to the other brown tab wrapped in some more blue tape near the cruise control, but still no avail. what am i doing wrong? i checked the thread where OG was doing the same and i proceeded to try the same; still won't work. i'm positive all the wires are plugged in tight as much as possible, and i don't remember the exact colors of the wires either, but i will post pictures tomorrow morning or so. i haven't found a good place to ground the black wire for this set as of yet, but i probably will on the dead pedal.

this is nearly the same kit that i received.

i followed TI's write up to some point where it stopped helping me. the link that is posted in every foglight thread to TI didn't help me through the last steps.

It was a bitch for me, man. The two wires with the lobster hands are both negative, you got that out of my thread, right? It's kinda tough for me to understand completely what you're issue is, but I'll FB my friend Keenan about this right now

but here is the 2nd set of wires that my crap came with.

the black circled ones are the plugs i'm confused as to where to plug since the color of the wires aren't OEM, the tutorials on TI don't help me, and i don't know s*** about wiring doesn't help any more.

the red circle on the left is just the relay with a grounding wire and the red circle on the right is the switch. the white circle is just a fuse. literally, just a fuse inside.

so i'm just confused where to plug the black circled in the picture. cause i'm sure i plugged the other wire behind the headlight just fine. the fog lights connected with one wire, that wire lead to a brown plug and a grounding wire, i grounded the wire and plugged the brown one into the taped brown one.

One of the brown plugs goes under the steering wheel, i remember that much right off hand but I can't remember which color the cable was. And there is one that matches with the wire behind your driver side headlamp. Should only really be able to plus one in to each because of the distance, but I really can't remember right now

yeah, one of the brown plugs goes into the fuse box into the first or second on the left because i read that those are auxiliary ones, and the other brown plug goes into the plug above the cruise control way under the dashboard.

i tried both combinations, but it still wouldn't turn on. confused as fuck. does my car have to be started to use them? i did that, pressed the switch and it still won't turn on.

Does the button light up at all? I can't remember if you're supposed to plug it into the aux plug with constant power or not. The black on is confusing me a bit

nah dude, the button does NOT light up at all either. when i look at the tutorials on TI, the plug into the fuse box was a black "ground" wire. but i guess since my set is a replica, it's only yellow and red...so i have no clue what the hell goes where.

i'm sure i was doing it right at some point, but i'm just confused now. i really regret asking for fog lights as a gift right now..shoulda just asked for some pizza or some s***.

also is there a damn way to just connect them with my HIDs? so that way when i turn on my low beams, the fogs would also? i'm thinking about doing that if anything and everything else fails.

You would have to splice wires, I assume to run from a single plug. And I regretted Keenan getting fogs, lmao! Try plugging the brown plug into some of the slots on the farthest side, if I remember correctly, the guys picture on TI is upside down

i mean, at least splicing wires SEEMS a bit easier. probably just gotta splice the red wire leading to the HID bulb...or somethingl.

hahaha. it's a handful. i don't want to give up because it would be a waste of $60 from my sister, but i do..because i didn't buy them. hahahahaha.

i also tried plugging it to the further right also, still no luck with 1 combo so far. i'll try the other combination once i get enough motivation to walk to my car again. hahaha

It took us three days and then finally he figured out the solution in like two minutes; it was fucking stupid, lma0

When you say brown plug up by the cruise control do you mean the one way up in the corner above the dead pedal going into the firewall?

And for mine i plugged it into i thibk slot #4 it only gets power when the car is running

But mine are oem so it might be different idk

yeah yeah, that little brown plug hiding in the damn corner up above. i'll try that also. which wires did you plug into where iDrive? like which brown plug into fuse #4 and the other into the corner.
