how do u remove a gauge cluster on a 92 da ??

please i need help with this, i have removed the top 2 screws and the bottom 2 screws and it will move from side to side but will not come out, it feels like something in the back-middle is holding it back, i cant even get it out enough to put my hands behind it

You need to unhook the speedometer cable from the transmission and force it through the firewall. I had to have someone pull on the cluster while I pushed the cable through. There was just barely enough cable to clear the steering wheel.

I actually gave up on my first attempt because I couldn't get it to pull out, drove me nuts. But the speedo cable is holding it in place. After you push that up through the firewall there's plenty of room to unhook the plugs.
