I've had my Integra for about a month now and did my first upgrade this weekend. When I bought my car the guy wanted $2600. I talked him down to $1000 cash (hence the title of my this post). Since then I have done a little work to it here and there. fixed a few things that needed some attention...stereo not working, loose bumpers, a couple electrical and ignition issues. I remedied the biggest problem this weekend. When I picked it up the front tires were bald and the rear were dry rotted....(pain in the ass...constantly having to refill). I picked up a set of 17" Kosei wheel's and got them wrapped in some fresh 205/40/17 rubber. I got the rims for $250 and the tires for $350 and the extended shank tuner lugs w/ key for $70....in my opinion...not a bad way to spend 670 bucks! Handles way better than those sissy little 14's!!! When I cruise down the highway at 100 mph it feels like I'm doing 50!!! Oh yah! Not to mention she looks way better with some new kicks!!! :)

Uggg... actually probably nothing was wrong with the ignition but this is gonna sound crazy but here's how it went down....

There was an empty slot in my fuse box marked AC (IGS). I didn't no what it was so I put a fuse in it...started it up...nothing different so I took it out went to start it in the morning and wouldn't fire....mind u it's 5 am...so I take my other ride to work and plan on figuring it after after I get out. Long story short...I ended up with a new distributor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires and still no fire....got to going through the electrical in great detail and put a fuse back in that empty slot again and it fired right up!.....Idk...it seems like it was running when it shouldn't have and when I put the missing fuse in and then took it out it decided it wanted it back....anyway I figured it can't hurt having a new ignition system and a tune up so I let by gones be by gones and was just happy she was running again! Lol! :) Hell it was only another $350 or so..a bit of running around...a bit of wrenchin...and a lil confusion...but in the end she's running sweet as can be! :) Well except for the passenger side cv shaft I need to change....

I found the rims on craigslist 10 mins from my work. The tires I got at Discount Tire in South Bend, IN (I'm pretty sure they are a national chain). And I had to go to the Tire Rack in South Bend to get the lugs. It was a hell of a day running around getting everything but worth it in the end!

Nice pickup. I would have gone with 16"s though.

Is your name Astrid? I know of one person who had that name back in highschool. I have never known anyone else by that name.

No it's not my real name...just a screen name I've used for a few years.

Why would you go with 16" wheels instead?
Bigger rim + less tire = better handling and response.

Bigger rims = more weight. Most tegs look just fine with 16s, but i personally like DBs with 17's if done right....

Rougher ride because of less meat on the tire, cost of tires is greater, wheels and tires will typically be heavier than that of 16" combinations, and I dont think the size fits the car very well.

The ride feels great to me. It still rides softer than either of my Z32 chaisis Z's I used to own.
Also I went through tire and rim combo's at the store extensively for a 3rd gen Integra and surprisingly 17" tires actually cost less. They said the 16" sizes for a 3rd gen teg are kind of odd sizes so they end up costing more.
Everyone has their own tastes and to to each their own. To me 17's look and feel great on this car across the board...handling and style. 18's would be too much but I feel like 17's are a good fit.
