Yeah, you can get engine degreaser from Autozone. Rust huh... Hmmm... That, I've never dealt with before, so I can't tell you what to do.Autozone?
What about if youve got some rust?
Yea thats why im a tad nervous, I dont want to screw something up with water. But I think I should get some rust remover first or something.i want to too...but all that electrical stuff got me scared for once in that maxima..o well..time to learn lol
unnecessary, i can say that from experience...you distributor will be fine so will you alternator, just dont sit there and spray your alternator for 10mins straight *duh*. if your engine is skipping afterwards, take off the distributor cap and wipe the moisture from the inside and make sure non is on the rotor button...thats IF your engine is skipping. i've done it enough to know it dont effect nothing. mechanic will do the same thing i have told u..so DIYif your going to spray the engine down make sure you cover your alternator and dystributor with plastic bags WHILE THE ENGINE IS OFF. excess water can damage these parts every thing else shoud be fine. ohh and cover your cone filter if you have one.
its diffrent if your using a high pressure washer none of your little o-ring seals will stand up to that pressure of water i dont know if your talking about using a hose because that wont do much i think the only way to get it really clean is to use a high pressure washer any thing else fails.unnecessary, i can say that from experience...you distributor will be fine so will you alternator, just dont sit there and spray your alternator for 10mins straight *duh*. if your engine is skipping afterwards, take off the distributor cap and wipe the moisture from the inside and make sure non is on the rotor button...thats IF your engine is skipping. i've done it enough to know it dont effect nothing. mechanic will do the same thing i have told u..so DIY
